With 75 participants in 2011, 115 in 2012, and 120 in 2013 we're eager to offer local indoor soccer
(Futsal) in Waconia again in 2014!
This is a “player’s” league for indoor soccer! Players register
individually...not as a team. Teams will not be set and consistent. Rather,
based on individual player points, teams will be made each week to encourage the
most competitive play for each game. If a player is on a team that wins, they
get 3 points (1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss, and 2 points for being at practice). Player’s cumulative season
points will be tallied after each week and teams will be modified for the coming
week. Each player will participate in a game (usually on Sunday) and a practice
during the week.
When and Where
Games will mostly be on
Sunday’s from January-March (6 games and approximately 9 practices), exact times yet to be determined
(early mornings avoided). The master schedule will be updated
as necessary along with weekly updates of which team your son or daughter will
be playing on. The
schedule will be VERY TIGHT so please have your player there and ready to play at
least 10 minutes before their scheduled game time. Games will start and stop on
time regardless of individual preparedness. Practices, and some games, may be on
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday evenings.
Scheduling may change based on registration results or gym availability
changes from Safari Island.
Games and pratices will be held at Safari Island
and possibly Bayview Elementary. Any additional practices
scheduled by coaches may be held at alternate locations.
$145 per player. Includes 2 shirts, water bottle (upgraded from the last 3 years), and all expenses associated
with administration, coaching, refereeing, equipment, and gym rentals.
If additional practice times are desired and scheduled by the coaches, this
will be an additional fee.
Practices are done separate from games. Each
group will be provided 1 hour long training session during the week (some weeks
may not have a practice due to gym constraints).
Practices outside the 1 per week scheduled for teams will be additional cost and
up to your coach to schedule and collect payment for if desired. Please pay attention to emails
from coaches for info on these
Practices will be structured and consistent between coaches and divisions.
We have a simple but deliberate approach to training and will provide coaches with the
tools they need to challenge and develop participants in this program.
